Hapag-Lloyd's new service connects the Fishport terminal in Chernomorsk with the DP World terminal in Constanta, beginning on 27 May with departures every five days. This service aims to provide benefits such as flexible scheduling, reefer plug availability for refrigerated cargo, avoidance of congested inland routes, reduced road weight limitations, and lower local formalities and costs at Constanta.
In partnership with Ukraine's feeder operator Iteris, Maersk is deploying a vessel with a capacity of over 1,100 TEU to link Chornomorsk and Constanta, marking a significant step in reestablishing a vital trade corridor. According to Daniil Melnychenko from Informall BG, this service is expected to see increased volumes in the coming months, potentially enabling direct shipments from Turkey and Egypt to Ukraine, bypassing Romania.
