UK-based Hayfin Capital Management has been linked to the acquisition of two capesize bulk carriers, Nord Energy and Nord Power, from Danish shipping giant Norden. Built in 2012 at Hanjin Subic, the vessels are reportedly sold for $32 million each, with their next drydockings scheduled for early 2028.

This potential deal follows Norden’s confirmed sale of a sister ship, Nord Magnes, to Costamare in September for $31.5 million.

Hayfin has been active in the capesize segment throughout the year, previously acquiring four vessels, including two 2009-built capes and others aged 13 and 14 years. The company has also shown interest in the shipbuilding sector, further solidifying its position in the bulk shipping market.
