LNG Shipping, a joint venture between Victrol and Sogestran, has launched Europe’s largest inland LNG bunker vessel, Energy Stockholm, in Rotterdam on November 12. The 8,000 cbm vessel was christened by Saheera Ahmad, Head of Business Development – Marine LNG for Shell.

Built by RMK Marine’s shipyard in Türkiye, the Energy Stockholm was delivered in September 2024 and is chartered to Shell Western LNG for long-term bunkering operations in Zeebrugge, Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam (ZARA). Victrol will handle its day-to-day operations.

The vessel is designed for LNG bunkering across a wide range of ships and features a dual-fuel hybrid-electric engine with battery and shore power compatibility. It also offers a 500 kWh battery pack, enabling 30 minutes of battery-powered navigation.

The Energy Stockholm is LNG Shipping’s second vessel for Shell, following the launch of the LNG London in 2019. The new vessel enhances bunkering capacity in the ZARA region, optimizing energy use and reducing emissions in line with modern sustainability goals.
