Through the MoU, DNV will offer Seatrium insights on market and regulatory trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in environmental, safety, and quality standards. The two companies will collaborate on optimizing processes in newbuilding, conversion, and retrofit projects while exploring opportunities to advance technologies addressing key marine and offshore challenges.

The cooperation will also drive digital advancements in the sector, focusing on floating offshore wind turbines, hydrogen and ammonia production platforms, and next-generation floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units. DNV will provide expertise in integrating advanced cybersecurity and digital solutions into Seatrium’s digital services.

Remi Eriksen, CEO of DNV, highlighted the partnership’s role in delivering transformative solutions for decarbonization and digitalization. Chris Ong, CEO of Seatrium, emphasized the importance of innovation in achieving maritime decarbonization and sustainability.

During the MoU ceremony, DNV awarded two approvals in principle (AiPs) to Seatrium for new floating offshore wind turbine designs: the floating wind semi-submersible (FWSS) and small waterplane area cylindrical hull (SWACH).

This partnership is part of DNV’s ongoing efforts to foster sustainable solutions in the maritime and offshore sectors, following similar collaborations with other industry leaders.
